Professional Experience

 

Coordinated all aspects of the City of Escondido’s Emergency Management Program including mitigation, preparedness, disaster response, and recovery capabilities.

 

Updated, coordinated, and maintained a comprehensive emergency disaster preparedness plan for the City of Escondido including disaster response and recovery phases for a wide range of emergencies and disasters. Emergency planning included development and update of the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP); Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP); Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (MJHMP); Community Preparedness Guides; and Evacuation and Repopulation Plan.

 

Worked with city departments to analyze potential hazards in the community and develop corresponding action plans.

 

Presented to City Council, city staff, community stakeholders, and the public on emergency preparedness. Worked with Escondido's Public Information Officer to disseminate information and educational materials pertaining to preparedness prior to and in the event of a natural disaster or crisis. Liaison and partnered with key federal, state, and local organizations, as well as schools, local hospitals, and the military on disaster readiness and response capabilities.

 

As EOC Coordinator, managed readiness of Escondido’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) by planning, designing, and facilitating citywide emergency management capabilities and response, EOC position training, and functional and table-top exercises. Planned, designed, and executed citywide emergency preparedness training and simulation exercises for employees, schools, and community organizations.
