Professional Experience

Developed and delivered semester-length emergency preparedness training to students seeking a career in emergency management.

Provided emergency preparedness “best practices” through studies of public safety issues; human behavior in times of crisis; whole community incorporation; disadvantaged populations, cultural diversity, and inclusion considerations; access and functional needs coordination; and the role of government and private agencies in natural and man-made disasters.

Graduates learned the history of emergency management in relation to community all-hazard identification and assessment; emergency management systems; disaster operations; and prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery processes.
